Street Children in Ghana should have a bright future

The Chance for Children (CFC) story began in 1999 when Amon Kotey’s family opened their doors to neighbourhood children. This humble start established the first Drop-in centre in La, Accra. With the support of families, friends, and like-minded people in Switzerland and Ghana, CFC built the first home in Hebron in 2001. Since then, we have expanded our reach in Accra and further to Kumasi and Tamale in 2020, Takoradi and Dambai in 2023 and Kasua and Tema in 2025.

Today, we impact 4500 street children yearly.  Our program is guided by the management team and supported by dedicated staff of over 90 social workers, caregivers, teachers, and psychologists.

We have a nimble structure and a great network

Our philanthropic work is organized into three entities –the Swiss-registered Chance for Children (CFC) Foundation and CFC Association, and its operational arm, the NPO CFC in Ghana. All threeareindependentcharitable, non-profit organizations.

CFC Foundation was established in 2019 to ensure a more robust legal governance and cause protection. It carries out the same mission as theAssociation that was established 20 years earlier. Both are tax-exempt due to their recognized non-profit status.

The members’ activities are voluntary and organized through a designated office that oversees the Foundation’s tasks, responsibilities and implements strategies.
